Let your eyes adjust.

Eyes take a little while

to adjust to differences in light.

If you go from a very bright environment

and walk outside into the night,

you’ll be blind at first, until

shapes and contrast take form.

It’s normal to be disoriented

because you can’t actually see

what’s in front of your face.

Most of white America is only beginning

to see the injustices that have been felt

by the Black community for 400 years.

Dear white America.  Don’t go

back inside.  Let your eyes adjust.
